I reached in my hospital-issued diaper bag the other day while I was driving, searching for a toy for the baby.

My hand brushed against something it did not recognize....something wiry, gritty.......nasty.

I pulled my hand out.

Curiosity compelled me, and I stuck my hand back in.  I felt it again.

What on earth?

I gave a shiver, closed my fingers around it, and drew it out of the bag.

And almost missed my turn.

For a minute I was creeped out.

Then, I remembered that my three year old daughter is a hoarder.

Sounds like a reality tv show to me:  Preschool Hoarders and Those Who Love Them.

Or maybe, "What's in YOUR Diaper Bag Today?"

  1. Totally freaky! You were mighty brave to reach in a second time. I think I would have had a man in the family do it. :) Anyway, I am kind of freaked out every time I step on crunchy things. This stems from a tramatic experience from years back when my husband's crab crawled out of the aquarium. My foot found him.

  2. Ack!!!!! I would have thrown it across the car!!!!

  3. What I want to know is this:
How did she get to be *three*?!?!?!

  4. Rachel! Ewww! :) I have stepped on a slug before....but never a crab! What a horrible feeling! :)

Brenda, I gave a huge shudder. Couldn't imagine where the head came from for a while. Really strange! Finally figured it out. :)

Kari, I have no idea. But it's wrong. :)

  5. Too funny!!!! Three? Three? You just gave birth to her last week!

  6. LOL! Thanks for the chuckle, Holly!

  7. Oh my goodness! ROFL! That would have scared the heck out of me! LOLOL
