The birth of
Gabriel Joseph
5:38 a.m.
October 7
8 lbs. 12 oz.
Gabriel was born at 37 weeks (and one day...)
and his labor was quick, smooth, and peaceful.
(Jeff says that I make it look too easy. I say that is easy for him to say.)
We are all home now and Gabriel is doing fine - settling into life
in a busy household. He seems accustomed to the noise - it doesn't bother him
in the least. He is so very loved by all - he is never lacking for arms to hold him.
We give thanks to God for this wonderful little guy.
Oh Holly, he's beautiful! Congratulations! Woo! :D
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, absolutely beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful boy!
ReplyDeleteI love his name!
We are expecting in April and both Gabriel and Joseph are on our list!
Congratulations.
SO, SO thankful to hear the birth was smooth and all are well as we have prayed! Love the boy, love the name, love to you all! Praise the Lord for His goodness!

Congratulations! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE new babies!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!! Such a beautiful baby.
ReplyDeleteAnd pretty hefty for a 37 weeker, no? Love them chubby baby cheeks. Just smoochable.
Any secrets to that quick and easy delivery? I'm due any day now and starting to have that labor fear. We still don't have a name. We have determined however if the baby comes before we have a name we will be using some of our boys middle names. I guess you could say we a recycling names.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! SO SO SO happy for you guys. Welcome little Gabriel!
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Holly and family. The photo is so sweet, and I am so happy for you guys. What great news. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you all! We are over the moon over Gabriel. Truly no child could be more loved or have been more wanted. This was a tough pregnancy- what with all that has been happening over the months. Very exhausting. But he is such a treasure.
ReplyDeleteVanessa - yes - I remember that the name Gabriel was your suggestion. :) I've always liked the name!
Margaret - yes - I've never had a baby this big. My Emily was 8lbs. 9 ounces - and she was at least a week late. I'm so happy he decided it was time to be born!

ReplyDeleteI was worried, as you know, that we wouldn't have a name. Hopefully the right name will come to you in time! :) I found myself going back to derivations or to names that sounded very close to the names of our other children. I guess I just had sounds that I liked, and they stuck close to my mind. Some of our kids middle names appeal to me as first names, too.
As for quick and easy...sheesh. I don't know. I always fear it too. This time, I feared having some young trooper deliver my baby by the side of the expressway at 3:00 in the morning. I tried not to move very much, told Jeff where to avoid the bumps in the road, told the nurse to not check me too aggressively before the doctor came, etc. I wasn't afraid of giving birth at home so much - I mean - millions of women do that! I think we could have handled it - but with my rh factor/etc., it likely would have involved a transfer to the hospital anyway, and that didn't sound so fun to me. I knew it would be quick (my labors just are...) so why not go where I needed to eventually be, anyway?
I'll be praying for you. Please, as you can, stop by and let me know when your little one is born!
Congratulations! This is wonderful news!!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Johnson family!
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty much jealous of all ladies who go "early" (with healthy results, that is). :)
He's perfect! (And, so's his name.)
Love,
SGS
Very big congrats on the beautiful new baby!

ReplyDeleteWe had our baby boy on the 15th. He weighted 6lb 8oz. Everything went very will. Labor went fast and I made it through transition without feeling like I was going to die. This was the first time I used a birthing ball and it was my best friend throughout labor. In the end our little guy received the name of Caleb Ethan.
Dionne, congratulations! I am so excited and happy for you!!!! Best wishes - I pray that you have a great week with your sweet newborn!
ReplyDeleteSuzyQ - I still can't comment on your blog - wanted to be sure and say congratulations!!! :)
ReplyDeleteEveryone else - a huge thank you from all of us for your well wishes.
Congratulations! What a blessing! We love the name Gabriel too-- it's a good boyish, biblical name!
